It was a rainy Thursday night, like most of the nights at Jacksonville University recently. However, on Oct. 4, Dolphin Productions still held the event “Rage on the River” despite the unfavorable weather conditions. There were two featured disc jockeys that kept students raging throughout the night.

Students started arriving around 7:30 p.m. and by 8:00 p.m., the bright lights dimmed and the colorful lights strobe as DJ Capone threw down the first beats. After approximately 30 minutes of DJ Capone mixing-it-up, the rain finally stopped. However, by this time, all of the JU Ragers already had stormed the Strom Amphitheater.

A little after 9:00 p.m., there was a short introduction as DJ Earworm took the stage.

“Basically, what I do is take a bunch of songs apart and put them back together again in a different way,” DJ Earworm said. “I end up with tracks called mashups, which I post to [my] website. I also DJ with my laptop.”

His website address is djearworm.com.

By 10:15 p.m., the show was over. Approximately 2 percent of the student population was in attendance. There were plenty of glow sticks to go around.
