TacoLu – Mexican Cuisine

Jacksonville Beach, FL. – If you’re looking for a place to eat a truly Mexican cuisine, TacoLu in Jacksonville Beach is the restaurant to be.

TacoLu opened its doors in 2008 on Beach Boulevard. Being only a little taco stand and the economy tanking during the years, many people, including the owners, Debbie and Don Nicol, thought that it was a dubious plan to start the business at that moment. They were proved wrong, as 5 years later, the restaurant had gained massive attention that they had to move into a new building.

It took the owners quite some time to figure out the name for their restaurant. They had thought of many options, including Baja Surf, Taco Rita, and Topolobampo, before finally landing on TacoLu.

The Lu in TacoLu comes from the owners’ daughter, whom they named Lucy.

Insider Magazine published an article on “the 50 best tacos in America” in 2016. TacoLu has been ranked number 34 on this list.

According to Tripadvisor[1], TacoLu is ranked number 3 on the list of restaurants in Jacksonville Beach, with over 941 reviews and 4.5 stars.

Each taco is priced between $2.99 and $5.99, making it affordable for everyone.

Sheila, a waitress at TacoLu, had been working there for almost a year and said: “It’s great to meet new people from all around, and to make their day with Mexican food and delicious margaritas.”

She recommends the Bangin’ Shrimp taco for the fish eaters and the $10 Taco – which is only $5.99 – for the meat lovers.
