Tailgate and Homecoming Game

What did you do on Saturday, October 10th? Hopefully you were exploring the many activities JU had to offer on campus. Homecoming this year was a huge success. To start off the day, there was a 5K run winding all throughout the campus. The amount of participants that showed up was phenomenal, not to mention how great they all did. Later on in the day, at the front of the school, there was a carnival set up. Although the weather threatened the day early on, it cleared up quickly and the rides were up and running. The carnival had a giant spinning wheel ride, which I was personally too scared to go on, but it appeared to be a huge hit. There was also zip lining, bumper cars, and face painting. Along with all of this, there was a DJ there, keeping the energy and spirits high throughout the day. Along with all of this, there was the usual tailgating going on in the parking lot outside of the Davis College of Business. The tailgating this year was the most successful it has been up to this point in the season, with plenty of people showing up. The Greek life had corn hole set up, foam football’s flying around, a dunking booth, and of course delicious food for everyone. JU radio even made an appearance, playing music for the tailgate for part of the time.

Once it came time for the game, everyone herded into the stadium. Hopefully you were able to find a seat, because many people were stuck standing the entire game. Administrators from JU could not stop telling everyone they saw how amazing the turnout was, being the best the school has seen since they had been working at the university. The stadium was so packed that it was hard even finding a place to stand with a clear view of the field. On top of the great time everyone had throughout the day, the football team was able to pull off yet another solid victory, continuing their undefeated streak. This homecoming was a great success, hopefully we can continue this in the upcoming years.
