The Blake Bortles era has begun in Jacksonville and the outcome has been the same. The Jaguars have started the season 0-5 for the second consecutive year, with the most recent loss coming at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Jaguars shocked the world when they drafted Blake Bortles with the third overall pick in this year’s draft, and then proceeded to tell the public that they planned to sit Bortles for his first season in the NFL.

The Jags weren’t able to stick to that plan, because the play from Chad Henne was so lackluster that head coach Gus Bradley had to play Bortles in the second half of their week three matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Although the outcomes have been the same since Bortles took over as the starting quarterback, the overall play from the Jaguars has not been the same.

Blake Bortles has provided a spark that has given the once sedentary offense the ability to move the ball down the field. He has created scoring drives that Jaguars fans have not been accustomed to in recent weeks. Bortles has shown that he is clearly a superior player over Henne and continues to impress with his play on the field.

Jaguars’ general manager David Caldwell and head coach Gus Bradley hope that Bortles turns into the franchise quarterback they have been looking for. Fans hope that the Jaguars can get back to winning no matter who is playing quarterback.

The Jaguars hope to bring their record to 1-5, as they prepare for the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Sunday, Oct. 12.
