Late Goal Secures Dolphins First Win of 2013

The Dolphins men’s lacrosse team emerged late against High Point sneaking away with a 9-8 victory, earning their first win of the season.
With less then a minute to go, Ari Waffle got a pass from James Trentini and shot it past the High Point goalie.
After opening up the scoring, the Dolphins fell behind as High Point reeled off five of the next six goals putting them up 5-2 at the half.
The third quarter was all JU as they scored four unanswered goals reclaiming the lead 6-5.
The Panthers finally got on the board in the second half with a goal with eight seconds to play in the third.
Going into the final quarter of play knotted at six, the Dolphins scored the fourth quarter’s first two goals, jumping out to an 8-6 lead off of Trentini and Quint Miller scores.
High Point wouldn’t go away easily as they rattled off two straight goals of their own tying the game at eight with less then three minutes to play.
This set the stage for Waffle’s game winning goal, securing the Dolphins first victory of 2013.
JU hosts Marquette next at D.B. Milne Field. The game is March 9 and is set to faceoff at 1 p.m.
